Kelsey’s practice focuses primarily on the defense of medical malpractice actions and medical regulatory defense.  Kelsey represents and defends health care practices, physicians, physician extenders, and nurses in professional liability matters.  She also represents health care providers in regulatory matters, including investigations by the North Carolina Medical Board.  Kelsey also provides education and guidance to medical professionals on issues such as HIPAA, HITECH and other important legal frameworks.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Kelsey attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with double minors in English and Psychology.  She then began her career as a workers’ compensation adjuster before attending law school, where she developed a deep interest in the intersection of law and medicine.  Kelsey attended law school at the University of Nebraska, actively participating in the Client Counseling program and earning a certificate in Civil Litigation.  Prior to joining the Walker Allen team, Kelsey focused her Midwest practice on employment litigation defense.  Her background in employment matters provides valuable insight for medical professionals and hospitals navigating  complex employment issues.

Kelsey moved to North Carolina in 2021 from Nebraska and is enjoying exploring all the East Coast has to offer.  When she is not at the office, Kelsey enjoys live music, trying local spots, and walking her dog, Percy.
