A unique part of our practice is our work with special investigations units in automobile and homeowners insurance. We assist in investigation of claims with fraud indicators including suspected staged accidents, arson, and malingering. We are frequently retained to conduct examinations under oath of insureds.  We have investigated and assisted in the prosecution of service providers across the state for fraudulent activities, including fraudulent billing. Our firm brought the first known private cause of action by an insurance company in North Carolina against a service provider for racketeering, unfair and deceptive trade practices, and insurance fraud.
