Jackie began her journey at Walker Allen in 1985 as a paralegal. After law school, she returned to the firm where she is now a partner. She is an experienced litigator in both the general liability and medical malpractice defense sections. She handles competency matters and collections for creditors. Jackie is licensed to practice law in North Carolina and Virginia.
Jackie belongs to several professional organizations, including the Wayne County Bar Association, North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, Virginia State Bar, and Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys. She also volunteers her time and talents to local non-profit organizations and community service projects, including The Bridge Church, Bridge to Hope, Communities in Schools, Lawyers for Literacy, and, of course, The Walker Allen Foundation.
She is a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina. She graduated summa cum laude from Mount Olive College with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration. She is a 2009 graduate of Liberty University School of Law in Virginia. During law school, she served as a managing editor of the law review, completed externships with the Virginia Court of Appeals in Lynchburg and the U. S. Attorney’s Office in Roanoke, received a book award for Torts, and served on numerous public service projects, including her favorite project: serving as a court-appointed special advocate for children in the Lynchburg area. Today, she has adopted as many rescue dogs as possible (currently four); and, in her free time, she enjoys a good book, a great find at an auction, and live theatre productions.
